Just One Reader's Opinion!

Week In Revew

February 23 – March 1

Hello and welcome to March! I know February is a short month, but with the ridiculously cold winter I’ve been experiencing, there were times I felt that the month would never end and warmer weather would never come (not that warmer weather has come yet, but we’re getting closer).

Anyway. This was a fun week in the world of condo purchasing because my husband and I got to go select tiles and cabinets and counter tops and faucets and much more. It was overwhelming and there was definitely some option overload, but it was also a lot of fun.

Some bookish goodies!
Some bookish goodies!

As for books, this was a pretty fabulous book week! I won a giveaway so thanks to Jess of Read My Breath Away and Candlewick Press, I received a box of goodies: The Tiger RisingΒ andΒ The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo; A Monster CallsΒ by Patrick Ness and illustrated by Jim Kay; The Knife of Never Letting GoΒ by Patrick Ness; FeedΒ by M.T. Anderson; andΒ Boy ProofΒ by Cecil Castellucci. Thank you!!

I also received ARCs of All the Rage by Courtney Summers, I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios, and Skandal by Lindsay Smith. Thank you Raincoast!

And I finally used my last Chrismas gift card to purchase the first three books in Maureen Johnson’s Shades of London series: The Name of the Star, The Madness Underneath, and the just-released-this-month The Shadow Cabinet.Β  The Madness Underneath ended in a way that kind of emotionally devastated me, and I can’t wait to see what happens next in The Shadow Cabinet!

I believe I only read two books this week: Stone in the Sky by Cecil Castellucci, and Me Before You by Jojo Moyes for one of my book clubs. Both books were excellent!

Currently, I’m reading Ally Carter’s All Fall Down, and Fangasm: Supernatural Fangirls by Katherine Larsen and Lynn Zubernis.

It was a busy week on the blog! I posted reviews of A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab, Stone in the Sky (as part of a blog tour), and The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski.

I also posted about Simon & Schuster’s Dark Side Tour (which had a stop in Ottawa), and participated in a cover reveal for Falling for Alice (check out the post for a giveway too!).

Phew!

Coming up this week are my reviews of Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver (LOVED) and The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

That’s it for me! I need coffee, some food, and some reading time before my usual Sunday night viewing of The Walking Dead! Happy Sunday!

I wound up enjoying this book so much that I immediately bought the rest of the books in the series and read them all one right after the other!
