Just One Reader's Opinion!

Week In Review

February 15 – 21

Hello! Happy Sunday! Yesterday I went on a lunch date with my sister and our husbands, and a movie date with my husband to see Deadpool and enjoyed it – and ended up sitting beside my friend Meaghan! Small world! The movie was pretty good – I’d give it a B+.

And now I’m going to try and spend most of my day reading today, before a new episode of The Walking Dead is on tonight. I’m so happy that show is back! Last week’s mid-season premiere was so great! And now I can’t wait to see what happens next.

As for books, I received some exciting goodies this week, along with some that I forgot to mention over the previous couple of weeks, via a combination of ARC, finished copy from the publisher, pre-order, and Chapters and Kobo gift cards (my final Christmas gift cards):

How to Disappear, by Ann Stampler (ARC received from publisher);

A Gathering of Shadows, by V.E. Schwab (I pre-ordered this finished copy; I’ve already read and loved an ARC);

Riders, by Veronica Rossi (purchased with gift card);

An English Ghost Story, by Kim Newman (purchased with gift card);

This is Not a Test, by Courtney Summers (signed! Received via book club);

The Rivals of Versailles, by Sally Christie (ARC received from publisher);

The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend, by Katarina Bivald (purchased);

Disclaimer, by Renee Knight (purchased with gift card);

Chimera, by Mira Grant (purchased with gift card);

The Love that Split the World, by Emily Henry (finished copy received from the publisher);

The Quality of Silence, by Rosamund Lupton (e-book purchased with gift card); and

Perfect Days, by Raphael Montes (e-book purchased with gift card).

I finished reading three books this past week: The Widow, by Fiona Barton; The Lifeboat Clique (ARC), by Kathy Parks; and Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsberg, by Irin Carmon and Shana Knizhnhik.

Currently, I’m readingΒ The Love that Split the World, and Three Parts Dead, by Max Gladstone (although I’ve barely started reading either. Hopefully I’ll have more reading time today).

On the blog this past week, I posted reviews of Take the Fall by Emily Hainsworth, andΒ A Gathering of Shadows.

I need to rewatch the last few episodes of season two of Supernatural so I can write about them for the blog! Then I need to get working on season three.

I also need to write my reviews forΒ The Widow andΒ The Lifeboat Clique, so that I can post them this week.

And that’s it for me! Time for coffee! Happy reading!

    I wound up enjoying this book so much that I immediately bought the rest of the books in the series and read them all one right after the other!
