Just One Reader's Opinion!

Week In Review

February 5 – 11

Hello, happy Sunday! I’m in Olympics mode. Go Canada!

I have not been in much of a reading mode this week. I have been in a big-time Supernatural-watching mood, as I work my way through season four, and I’ve also been listening to a lot of music (particularly Idlewild, which reminds me that I have a post sitting in Drafts about singer Roddy Woomble’s most recent solo album).

I’m hoping to get a little more reading done today, but with Olympics on and Supernatural on my brain, I’m not sure if that will happen.

New books:

No new books this week but there are a couple of e-ARCs via Edelweiss that I think I forgot to mention last week.

Now You See Her, Lisa Leighton and Laura Stropki (body-switching mystery? I’m intrigued); and

The Truth Lies Here, Lindsey Klingele (Edelweiss called it Stranger Things meets Men In Black so heck yes!).

I also pre-ordered the new Courtney Summers book, SadieΒ (out in September). It sounds sooooo good:

Sadie hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she’s been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.

But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie’s entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister’s killer to justice and hits the road following a few meagre clues to find him.

When West McCrayβ€”a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in Americaβ€”overhears Sadie’s story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie’s journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it’s too late.

Books read:

Like I said, this wasn’t much of a reading week for me. I did finish one book: American Panda, by Gloria Chao. I will probably have my review for that one up on Monday.

Current reads:

I’m still reading Justina Ireland’s Dread Nation, and it’s sooo good and I want to finish it today if I can tear myself away from Olympics and Supernatural to read! I’ve been taking my time with the book but I’m loving it.

Reviews:

I only posted one book review this past week (The Wolves of Winter), and I posted two SPN Rewatch blogs (season three’s Long Distance Call and Time Is On My Side).

Time to go cheer on some more Canadian athletes. Happy Sunday!
