Just One Reader's Opinion!

Week In Review

February 10 – 16

I’m right in the middle of Olympic fever! I’ve got Olympics on TV when I get ready for work in the morning and I put it on as soon as I get home from work. On the weekend, it’s been all Olympics all the time. I’m so proud of our Canadian athletes! And I’m going to a friend’s house today to watch the Canadian men’s hockey game. Go Team Canada!

I went curling yesterday for a friend’s birthday. I’ve never done that before and boy is it harder than it looks! It was so much fun and we’re already planning to do it again!

I’m also so happy that it’s a long weekend! My big goal is to sort and organize my bookshelves. That will be a big task but I’m also excited to do it! I’ve already seen some books that I had been excited to buy and then forgot about. This will be a great opportunity for me to take stock of what I have, and one of my resolutions this year was to read more from my own bookshelves (rather than requesting more ARCs and purchasing more books), so I think sorting my shelves will help me do that.

I had a very nice book week: I received Stella by Helen Eve and Strange Sweet Song by Adi Rule from MacMillan/Raincoast; my pre-order of Secret Diamond Sisters by Michelle Madow arrived; and I picked up Going Rogue by Robin Benway from the library.

I also received some e-arcs from Edelweiss: Maid of Deception by Jennifer McGowan; Dissonance by Erica O’Rourke; Chasing Before by Lenore Appelhans; and Sublime by Christina Lauren. I’m so so excited to read these!

I finished reading three books this week: Blythewood by Carol Goodman; Backwards Compatible by Sarah Daltry and Pete Clark; and Endless Love by Scott Spencer. I’ll be working on those reviews this week.

Currently I’m reading The Enchanted by Rene Denfeld and Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi.

On the blog, I posted my reviews of Perfect Lies by Kiersten White and Pretenders by Lisi Harrison. I also shared my Waiting on Wednesday post for Sara Shepard’s upcoming book.

Coming up are my reviews of Unforgotten by Jessica Brody and Year of Mistaken Discoveries by Eileen Cook. Also coming up on Thursday is my interview with author Mindee Arnett! Be sure to check that out!

I’m planning to fit some reading in this morning and then I’ll be cheering on our hockey team against Finland! Happy weekend and happy reading!

  1. I actually have not watched the Olympics . . . I keep telling myself to, but I’m not very into watching sports.

I need to read more books from my bookshelf too. They’ve really stacked up lately! I really hope you had a fun time reading Backward Compatible–I really liked that one.

    Happy Reading!

I wound up enjoying this book so much that I immediately bought the rest of the books in the series and read them all one right after the other!
