Just One Reader's Opinion!

Week In Review

November 3 – 9

The weather is chilly, the leaves have changed colour and are falling off the trees, Halloween is over and now Starbucks is advertising its Peppermint Mocha…we are approaching my favourite time of year: Christmas!

I’m already halfway finished with my Christmas shopping, husband and I have picked the day to put up the (fake) Christmas tree, and I’m putting together my Christmas music playlist. I love the holidays!

This was a nice little book week: I borrowed my friend Emilie’s ARC of Talon by Julie Kagawa (eeee! I can’t wait to read it!); my signed, pre-ordered copy of The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin arrived; and I received an e-ARC of Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley via Edelweiss.

I’m also going to the library to pick up a few books: Rites of Passage, by Joy N. Hensley (I’ve heard so many great things and I can’t wait to read it); The Cure for Dreaming by Cat Winters; and They All Fall Down by Roxanne St. Claire.

I finished reading two books this week, both of which I loved: My True Love Gave To Me: Twelve Holiday Stories, edited by Stephanie Perkins, and Yes Please by Amy Poehler.

Currently I’m reading my BEA ARC of Mortal Heart (His Fair Assassin #3) by Robin LaFevers, and my ARC of Court by Cat Patrick. I’m really enjoying both so far!

On the blog, IΒ  posted my reviews of:

Allison Hewitt Is Trapped, by Madeleine Roux;

Trial by Fire, by Josephine Angelini; and

Winterspell, by Claire Legrand.

Coming up are reviews of:

The Secret Diamond Sisters, by Michelle Madow

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3), by Sarah J. Maas

Time for coffee, breakfast, and Mortal Heart for a bit until the library opens. Happy Sunday!

    I wound up enjoying this book so much that I immediately bought the rest of the books in the series and read them all one right after the other!
