May 2025
I don’t always feel like writing a full review for everything. I was inspired by Modern Mrs. Darcy’s Quick Lit posts and decided to do something similar as a way to briefly discuss the books I read in a month but don’t write full reviews for.
May was a bit of a slow reading month for me. I only finished six books, but enjoyed most of them. Here are my thoughts on what I read:
So Thirsty, Rachel Harrison (owned) – 4⭐
Another great Rachel Harrison read! I always enjoy her books and in this one, she tackles vampires, and I loved her take on them.
Haunted Ever After, Jen DeLuca (owned) – 2.5⭐
I so wanted to love this, but I struggled to stay interested. I just could not get into the romance at all.
Universality, Natasha Brown (owned) – 3⭐
This was well written and the premise was intriguing, but beyond the opening, I struggled with it and couldn’t make sense of it all in the end. Maybe this was just over my head.
The Little Frog’s Guide to Self Care: Affirmations, Self-Love and Life Lessons According to the Internet’s Beloved Mushroom Frog, Maybell Eequay (owned) – 5⭐
What’s not to love about this!
Cold Eternity, S.A. Barnes (owned) – 3⭐
I love space horror, so I was so eager to read this! It had a great spooky atmosphere, and although it felt repetitive at times, it was a fun read.
As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow, Zoulfa Katouh (owned) – 4⭐
This was a beautiful, heartbreaking but ultimately hopeful story.
