It’s movie time!
As usual, here are the movies I’ve watched since my last movies post, listed in chronological order and linked to Letterboxd, with the ones I particularly enjoyed and recommend in bold:
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift – I don’t know why, but at some point I got it in my head that I should watch every movie in this series, since I’d only ever seen the first one.
Cult – I am really looking forward to seeing Koji Shiraishi’s adaptation of About a Place in the Kinki Region by Sesuji, which I enjoyed, so to fill the time until I can find a way to see that, I’ve been watching some of his older movies.
Juror #2 – I thought this was a really good, twisty courtroom thriller!
AfrAId – This was unbelievably bad.
Occult – Another older Koji Shiraishi movie.
Project Hail Mary – I actually left the house to see this in the movie theatre! What a fantastic movie!
undertone – I really wanted to like this one more than I did.
Red Rooms – This was fantastic. And Canadian to boot! This is definitely one my favourites I’ve watched this year.
Do Not Enter – Oof this was so bad.
Horror in the High Desert 4: Majesty – I really liked the first two movies in this series, but four movies in I feel like there are no answers and it’s frustrating…but will I keep watching the new movies in this series? Yes lol.
Oddity (rewatch)
Hokum – This didn’t have the same tension that the director’s previous movies did, but it was good and I like Adam Scott!
Obsession – This definitely lived up to the hype for me! It was excellent. One of my favourites of this year.
Passenger – Ouch, this was disappointing.
The Furious – I love this movie! This feels like the best, most exciting action movie I’ve seen in a long time! I’ve already rewatched it several times, and would love to own a physical copy.
Mortal Kombat II – I just loved Karl Urban as Johnny Cage!
Tinsman Road – I just don’t think Robbie Banfitch’s movies are for me.
