Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Today my pick is Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman, out September 1 from HMH Books for Young Readers. Vengeance Road

From Goodreads:

When her father is killed by the notorious Rose Riders for a mysterious journal that reveals the secret location of a gold mine, eighteen year-old Kate Thompson disguises herself as a boy and takes to the gritty plains looking for answers–and justice. In the spirit of True Grit, acclaimed young adult novelist Erin Bowman brings to life the unpredictable and cutthroat days of the Wild West.

Come on, look at that cover! It’s awesome! And this book sounds soooo good!

What are you waiting on this week?

That cover is stunning!- and I’m really picky when it comes to covers;) I love stories in which a girl disguises herself as a boy to accomplish a quest! It sounds very emotional and intense:) Love the penguins on your blog by the way:D
    Great pick!

I’m not a huge fan of westerns, so this book probably isn’t for me. But I hope you like it!

I’m so conflicted about this book – on the one hand the cover is amazing and the story sounds really interesting. On the other I really didn’t care for this author’s previous books. It’s a tough decision.
