October 3 – 16
What a busy couple of weeks! It was Thanksgiving here in Canada last weekend, and my baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays, is playing in the post-season, which is very exciting. I’ve been to a bridal shower and a book event too since the last time I posted one of these, and the time has flown by! I can’t believe we’re already halfway through October. Fall is in full swing here and it’s awesome. The temperature is getting lower, the leaves have changed colour, and I am watching my favourite horror movies until Halloween.
It is the perfect kind of weather for me to curl up with a book. I’ve got a lot of books that I’m excited to read over the next couple of months, and I seem to have gotten back on track with my Goodreads goal to read at least 100 books this year. So far I’ve read 88, so I’m feeling pretty good about reaching my goal by the end of December.
I purchased a couple of new books:
Black Widow: Red Vengeance, Margaret Stohl;
The Midnight Star, Marie Lu.
I read quite a few books as well over the last couple of weeks:
Crooked Kingdom, Leigh Bardugo;
Replica, Lauren Oliver;
Last Seen Leaving, Caleb Roehrig; and
The Trespasser, Tana French.
Curently, I’m readingΒ The Kiss of Deception, by Mary E. Pearson. I like this one a lot so far!
I posted four reviews:
The Women In the Walls, Amy Lukavics;
The Female of the Species, Mindy McGinnis;
The Lovely Reckless, Kami Garcia; and
Wilde Lake, Laura Lippman.
Coming up are my reviews of Crooked KingdomΒ andΒ Replica.
That’s it for me! Time for another coffee and curling up with Β my book! Happy Sunday!
