Week In Review

May 13 – 19

I’m so happy the long weekend is here, although it already seems to have flown by. Friday was my birthday, and what did I get? An earthquake! It wasn’t huge, but I’ve only ever experienced a couple in my lifetime, and dying at work in an earthquake was not what I had in mind when I woke up that morning!

Anyway, I obviously survived the ‘birthquake’, as my husband called it, and then we went out for dinner and drinks when I got home from work. Saturday, my best friend had a birthday party for me at her house, complete with jello shots, pizza, and ice cream cake! It was so so fun!

So now I’m 30. Goodbye twenties, it was fun! I had a bit of a meltdown when I realized I was turning the big 3-0 and started to look for wrinkles in my magnifying mirror, but now I think I’m okay. I still feel young at heart and that’s what counts, right??

This week on the blog I posted my reviews of Mila 2.0 and Unravel Me. I also posted my Top Ten Tuesday post on the top ten books dealing with tough subjects, and my Waiting on Wednesday post about the upcoming Dream Thieves.

I finished reading David Levithan’s Every Day and loved it, and scheduled my review. I started to read Mind Games by Kiersten White, the next pick for my book club.

I’m spending the rest of my day playing video games, watching more Buffy the Vampire Slayer with my husband, reading, and painting my nails with my new Julep colours! There may also be some leftover ice cream cake involved. Happy long weekend all!
