January 2 – 8
The first Week in Review post of 2017!
In case you missed it, I posted on New Year’s Day about some of my resolutions. I’m looking forward to working on my Goodreads goal for 2017 (100 books) and of course all of the books that I want to read this year!
Thanks to Christmas gift cards and holiday sales, there are a lot of new books on my shelves:
Siracusa, Delia Ephron;
London Belongs To Us, Sarra Manning;
Security, Gina Wohlsdorf;
The Woman in Cabin 10, Ruth Ware;
Blood for Blood, Ryan Graudin;
The Little Book of Hygge, Meik Wiking;
Since You Asked, Maurene Goo;
Jane Steele, Lyndsay Faye;
The Last Policeman, Ben H. Winters;
The Mime Order, Samantha Shannon; and
In Your Room, Jordanna Fraiberg.
I also received some books as gifts via The Broke and Bookish Secret Santa and the Ottawa bloggers’ book swap in December, but I don’t think I talked about it here:
Between Shades of Gray, Ruta Sepetys;
Wanderlost, Jen Malone; and
The Choices We Make, Karma Brown.
And there are a few ARCs that I’ve received via Edelweiss (thank you the the publishers!):
Our Own Private Universe, Robin Talley;
The Sandcastle Empire, Kayla Olson;
That Thing We Call a Heart, Sheba Karim;
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, Mackenzi Lee;
Meddling Kids, Edgar Cantero;
Midnight at the Electric, Jodi Lynn Anderson;
Eliza and Her Monsters, Francesca Zappia;
The Secret History of Us, Jessi Kirby;
Dividing Eden, Joelle Charbonneau; and
Grit, Jillian French.
I think my reading is off to a good start so far this year. I’ve read two books, and I loved them both:
Wolf by Wolf, Ryan Graudin; and
The Little Book of Hygge.
As for my current reads, I’m reading Little Heaven by Nick Cutter and Beautiful Broken Girls by Kim Savage.
I started the year with a post about my resolutions for 2017, as well as two reviews:
The Elephants in My Backyard, Rajiv Surendra; and
Wolf By Wolf, Ryan Graudin.
So happy new year everyone! I hope your 2017 is full of great books!
