March 26 – April 1

Happy long weekend! And happy vacation – I am off work the first week of April and it will be a glorious time to catch up on sleep, read, and watch so much TV! I have a lineup of books I am planning to get into, and I have a bunch of shows to catch up on (The Walking Dead; iZombie; The Terror; a couple of other shows I might check out).

First up on the TV agenda was finishing the final season of Justified. Season six was fantastic and kind of heartbreaking, and I’m ready to rewatch the entire series already. I love that show so much!! I think the series finale was pretty great and that last season was almost perfect.

New books:

I borrowed The Wicked Deep from my library via the Libby app, and I’m really looking forward to reading it!

I also bought Gunslinger Girl by Lindsay Ely for my Kobo. Maybe it’s all the Justified I’ve been watching lately, but I was totally drawn into the idea of a western with a female lead (I actually think I’ve read a few YA westerns in the last couple of years and I’ve really enjoyed them).

Books read:

I only finished one book: Reign of the Fallen, by Sarah Glenn Marsh. I really wanted to love that book but I didn’t. It took me so long to get through.

Current reads:

I’ve started book one of my planned vacation reading: Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, by Becky Albertalli. I think all of my bookish friends have read this one so I feel like the last person to read it, but I’m halfway through and it’s so good!

Reviews:

I reviewed The Terror by Dan Simmons, and posted my sister’s most recent Cozy Corner review for Due or Die by Jenn McKinlay.

Let the vacation begin! Happy Sunday!
