May 7 – 27
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done one of these posts. May is very birthday-heavy so between my husband’s birthday one week and mine the next, life was a little busy this month.
But this has been a quiet weekend, and I’ve managed to get some good reading time in already.
New books:
I received an ARC of Nova Ren Suma’s A Room Away From the Wolves (thank you Thomas Allen!) and of Ann Aguirre’s Like Never and Always (thank you Raincoast!).
I also purchased a few books:
The new paperback of V.E. Schwab’s Vicious (this is one of my favourite books, so I couldn’t resist getting this lovely new paperback);
Jem and the Holograms, Vol. 1, Kelly Thompson et al.;
The Way You Make Me Feel, Maurene Goo; and
Lincoln in the Bardo, George Saunders.
Books read:
I managed to read enough books to finally get a few books ahead of my Goodreads goal:
Sunburn, Laura Lippman;
Lumberjanes, Vol. 8, Shannon Watters et al.;
Contagion, Erin Bowman (e-ARC);
Jem and the Holograms Vol. 1;
Little Monsters, Kara Thomas; and
You, Caroline Kepnes.
Current reads:
I’m currently reading The Amateurs by Liz Harmer, and a really interesting non-fiction book called What We See When We Read by Peter Mendelsund.
Reviews:
Lots of reviews on the blog this past while!
Unbury Carol, Josh Malerman;
One Of Us Is Lying, Karen M. McManus;
Undead Girl Gang, Lily Anderson;
The Merciless III: Origins of Evil, Danielle Vega;
Sunburn, Laura Lippman; and
Another One Bites the Crust, Ellie Alexander.
Time to get back to Coronation Street, coffee, and my book! Happy Sunday!
