Week In Review
September 9 – 15
This was my first week back following a week’s vacation from work, which included a fantastic trip to Montreal with my husband! We had a great time, eating at our favourite restaurants, climbing up to the top of Mont Royal to have a picnic, shopping, and going to the movies. We saw World War Z and The World’s End, and I really liked both! I am a big Simon Pegg fan, and while The World’s End is not my favourite movie in the ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ (the other two being Shaun of the Dead – one of my favourite movies ever – and Hot Fuzz), it was pretty hilarious.
I also got a whole bunch of reading done while on vacation! It was honestly so great to be able to get up whenever I wanted – some days, I got up early and other days, I slept in – and just hang out with my husband, whether we were in Montreal, or back home in Ottawa. And to top it off, we went to a wedding last weekend and had the best time!
It has been a while since I’ve done a Week In Review post, and I’ve picked up a bunch of books since then: Night Film by Marisha Pessl (bought while I was on vacation in Montreal – I couldn’t resist!); More Than This by Patrick Ness; The Silent Wife by A.S.A Harrison; Horns by Joe Hill; The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black; and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Phew!
I finished reading three books last week: Gloss by Marilyn Kaye; Cracked Up To Be by Courtney Summers; and Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick. I’m currently reading Fangirl and The Coldest Girl in Coldtown.
I’m hoping to spend the rest of the weekend working on a couple of reviews and going to the movies with a friend. Happy Sunday!
