Just One Reader's Opinion!

Week In Review

April 8 – 14

So it’s April 14 and there’s snow/rain, slush, and temperatures hovering around 0 degrees. Where is spring???

Because of the weather, I basically stayed inside all weekend! It was a good excuse to stay curled up on the couch with my library books and watch Netflix with Kevin. We got into Californication with David Duchovny but Netflix only has the first three seasons up. There are three more seasons to watch, so now I have to wait to catch up on the rest of the show. Grr!

We also watched some baseball, with the Blue Jays finally getting some wins! Despite Jose Reyes getting injured during Friday’s game, the team pulled out two wins in a row, and yesterday we finally saw some proper pitching from R.A. Dickey! Colby Rasmus (who I refer to as my hair twin) made an awesome catch yesterday:

So I’m looking forward to more of the same today: reading, watching a movie with Kevin, and watching the Jays play again this afternoon.

On the blog, I posted two reviews: Bunheads and Shadow and Bone. I also participated in my first Waiting on Wednesday, which was fun. I’m trying to schedule two posts a week to space out my reviews. I have reviews scheduled for the next two weeks, and I’m doing my first Top Ten Tuesday post this week, which I’m looking forward to.

I finished reading a whole bunch of books recently, so this week I’ll be posting reviews for City of Ashes (second book in the Mortal Instruments series), by Cassandra Clare, and Just One Day by Gayle Forman.

I’m about to start reading an ARC of Just Like Fate, by Cat Patrick and Suzanne Young, which I’ve been looking forward to, and a copy of The Unbearable Book Club for Unsinkable Girls that I borrowed from the library, looking for a lighter book since the last two I read were kind of intense and dramatic.

I’m off to enjoy the rest of my weekend! Books, baseball, and Pitch Perfect, here I come!

I wound up enjoying this book so much that I immediately bought the rest of the books in the series and read them all one right after the other!
