Just One Reader's Opinion!

Week In Review

January 5 – 11

My reading this past week has been somewhat non-existent, mostly because my husband and I are buying our first home and that whole process has occupied all of my time! We’re getting a brand new condo, after living for 7 years together in our little apartment. It’s very exciting and a little scary, but I can’t wait to move! They’ve just started construction so it’s still going to be a while before we actually live there, but I’m super excited.

That said, I’ve decided to really crack down on book spending (meaning NO MORE book spending!) and use my library a lot more. So I borrowed a bunch of books from the library this week:

Everything is Perfect When You’re a Liar, by Kelly Oxford;

Every Breath, by Ellie Marney;

Forget Me, by Kim Harrington; and

Winterkill by Kate A. Boorman.

Somehow, with all of the new home stress and excitement, I managed to read a book this week: Atlantia, by Ally Condie.

I also started reading an ARC of Shutter, by Courtney Alameda. I’ve been really looking forward to this, and I’m loving it so far!

This past week, I shared a guest post from author Kristi Charish on her experience getting published (be sure to check out the giveaway at the bottom of the post!), and shared my Waiting on Wednesday pick. I also posted my review of Jeff VanderMeer’s Annihilation, book one of the Southern Reach trilogy.

Coming up this week are reviews of the rest of the Southern Reach series: Authority and Acceptance.

That’s it for me! Time to try and get some more reading done!

    I wound up enjoying this book so much that I immediately bought the rest of the books in the series and read them all one right after the other!
