August 25 – 31
This week flew by! I spent the week on vacation in Montreal with my husband and had a fabulous time! We saw some movies (Expendables 3 and The Guardians of the Galaxy), did some shopping, went to the Biodome and saw a bunch of awesome animals, and we did a LOT of eating! I didn’t end up doing as much reading as I thought I would, but I want to spent most of this long weekend reading a couple of books on my TBR.
Anyway, I did manage to pick up a few books even while on vacation:
I received The Vault of Dreamers by Caragh M. O’Brien and Lailah by Nikki Kelley from Raincoast/MacMillan (thank you!);
I snagged The Prey by Tom Isbell, Polaris by Mindee Arnett (sequel to Avalon), Lies I Told by Michelle Zink, The Cemetery Boys by Heather Brewer, How To Win at High School by Owen Matthews, and a sampler of The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows from Edelweiss; and
I purchased After Obsession by Carrie Jones and Steven E. Wedel, and A Walk Among the Tombstones by Lawrence Block.
I only finished reading two books: Dangerous Boys by Abigal Haas, and The Jewel by Amy Ewing.
Currently, I’m reading Rooms by Lauren Oliver (it’s taking me a while to get into this one but I have high hopes for it!) and Anatomy of a Misfit by Andrea Portes.
On the blog, I posted a few reviews while I was away: Can’t Look Away by Donna Cooner; Chasing Before by Lenore Appelhans; and Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins.
Coming up this week are a bunch of reviews:
Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson;
Of Monsters and Madness by Jessica Verday;
The Jewel by Amy Ewing;
The Swap by Megan Shull; and
Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins.
I’m off to enjoy the rest of the long weekend! Happy reading!
