Ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is a drifter. He’s just passing through Margrave, Georgia, and in less than an hour, he’s arrested for murder. Not much of a welcome. All Reacher knows is that he didn’t kill anybody. At least not here. Not lately. But he doesn’t stand a chance of convincing anyone. Not in Margrave, Georgia. Not a chance in hell.
I really enjoyed the first season of the Reacher TV adaptation when I finally watched it, and I was curious about the books!
This was a good one to read first because, well, it’s the first in the series, but the TV show was also a fairly faithful adaptation, so it was easy enough for me to follow the plot while getting a bit more character development. I also liked the complexity of the mystery, and the fight scenes were great! But the book felt overly long and dragged at times.
Reacher is not a very complicated character, but getting a bit more insight into him via the book was interesting, and there is something about the state of the world right now that makes me really enjoy reading about villains getting what’s coming to them!
