August 11 – 17
I’m prepping this post a day in advance, because on Sunday the 17th I’ll be in Toronto to attend HCC Frenzy Presents! It’s going to be a bit of a fall book preview with the HarperCollins Canada YA crew, and I’m taking the Greyhound with some of my fellow Ottawa bloggers very early in the morning to get there. It should be a lot of fun!
I’m starting to get very excited about my upcoming vacation. It’s always tough watching my co-workers go on vacation all summer, but then when it’s finally my turn at the very end of August, I’m so happy! One more week of work to go!
This was a very quiet book week. I don’t think I acquired any new books! I did pre-order a couple of books: Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray (sequel to The Diviners) and Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater (third book in The Raven Cycle). I am a major fan of the pre-order. I often pre-order a book super early and then forget about it until it shows up at my door, so it feels like a surprise present! In this case, Lair of Dreams isn’t scheduled to come out until next April, so yeah…I guess I couldn’t wait to buy it.
I’ve also been very slow on my reading progress. I’m still sort of reading New York and The Happiness Project (I would like to devote more time to both of those books. I think they’ll be my vacation reads), and I finished Isla and the Happily Ever After. I’m also just over halfway through Camp Utopia and the Forgiveness Diet by Jenny Ruden, which I’m reading for a TLC Book Tour.
This upcoming week on the blog will be a busy one! I’m posting reviews of:
Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
Camp Utopia and the Forgiveness Diet
Ghost House by Alexandra Adornetto
Feral by Holly Schindler
